Herons and More


 


Today, for my morning walk, I went to the north beach and I saw a tricolored heron perched in the greenery of the dunes. After the walk on the beach, I decided to go all out today and walk along the boardwalk at the Birding and Nature Center as well. And, what should I see, but another great heron!





But there was more to see, by far!



Including much to see in the water . . .



I went home pretty tired, after having a double walk.

Heron in Flight . . . and More

On my Friday night Zoom meeting with my grandson and his wife, he asked me if the herons are pretty in flight. I assured him that they are. Little did I know I would get a chance to capture a few shots (not the greatest) at my next visit to South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center. 


I also got a chance to see a wonderful, young green heron, hiding in the tall grass. 


And, of course, as always, Mr. Muscovy was waiting to give me the eye as I left.

The Joys of Pet-Sitting on the Island

Pet-sitting on the island offers me the chance to get up and see the sunrise without having to cross the bridge in the dark. However, I almo...
